As part of its corporate social responsibility, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Lagos Province 44 (LP 44) has refurbished four police stations in Surulere area of Lagos State.
The police stations were: Ijesha Police Station, Bode Thomas Police Station, Aguda Police Station and Itire Police Stations, while equipment including Walkie Talkie and handcuffs were also donated to the stations.
The Pastor-in-charge of LP 44, Pastor Amos Emovon, who presented the security gadgets on behalf of the province to the representatives of the four police divisions, expressed delight in the efforts of the police at maintaining law and order in the community.
Emovon said the CSR embarked upon by some provinces in RCCG , is a mandate of the General Overseer of the mission, Pastor Enoch Adeboye to touch lives within communities that RCCG are located.
CSP Bunmi Ogedengbe of Itire Divisional Police Station thanked RCCG for refurbishing Itire division’s patrol van and for other interventions at the four police stations.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni who was represented by the deputy PRO, Ifeanyi Iheanachor said: ‘’When we are friends, we come closer to help ourselves.’ ’
Pastor Gbenga Oyebode, an aspirant for the Chairmanship position of Itire/Ikate Local Council Development Area (LCDA), said, ‘’the police would use the refurbished patrol van to respond to distress calls in the area’’.
The Assistant Pastor-in- Charge Province, (CSR), Pastor Ajibola Opeoluwa-Calebs, said the province had also touched lives by providing ICT laboratories to schools, presented notebooks and textbooks, empowered women in skill acquisition and upgraded lives in the health sector.
Senior pastors, police chiefs and community leaders in Surulere attended the event.
