One representative has been taken to the doctor's facility after he breathed in the exhaust from the Arkema peroxide plant, the Harris County sheriff's office tweeted. Nine others drove themselves to the doctor's facility as a safety measure, the sheriff's office said.

The blasts were accounted for around 2 a.m. (neighborhood time).

The office, which is amongst Houston and Beaumont, had been nearly observed after plant authorities said they expected a compound response that will probably cause a fire that will "look like a vast fuel fire."

The thick dark smoke from the blasts "may be aggravating to the eyes, skin, and lungs," Arkema authorities said in an announcement.
