Eid al-Adha 2017: Pictures Of Muslim Holiday And Sacred Animal Sacrifice

Otherwise called the Feast of Sacrifice, the occasion respects the readiness of the Muslim prophet, Ibrahim to give up his child as a demonstration of submission to God's charge. The story goes — similarly, as Ibrahim was going to give up his child, Allah (God) supplanted him with a creature and saved his life.

The date on which Eid al-Adha begins relies upon the locating of the new moon. As it is chosen in view of the lunar cycle, it falls on an alternate date every year.

The festivals of the celebration start with Muslims heading off to a mosque in the morning to offer supplications and later trading blessings and cards in social events of family and companions. Amid Eid al-Adha, the petition is performed after the sun has risen and before early afternoon of the tenth day of Dhul Hijjah or the most recent month of the Islamic timetable.
